It does. It's not just a thing that can happen if you don't satisfy the suit frequently enough. I don't know of a single person who has gone home yet-- all the ones who come back say they either remember being stone, or that they spent what they thought was a few hours in a store or back hallway and came out to find that weeks had passed. The only reliable way I know of to get everyone home from something like this is by dealing with the ayakashi at the center. (Which it probably goes without saying is not a simple task when we're on its turf.)

Haha, no. The Matoba clan is the largest and most powerful exorcist clan in the region. The Natori clan is a clan of one. We're on very different scales.
The Matoba clan serve as a sort of organizing force for the exorcist community in the area. They host spellcaster meetings, organize bounties for dangerous ayakashi, etc. I've taken some jobs from them when it's something I'm suited for, things that are too small to justify deploying the full might of the Matoba clan. So in that sense, we have the same broad goals of protecting people.
I'm grateful to have access to Matoba-san's expertise. I said earlier that resolving this situation is not easy. That's true even if all of the exorcists and other spellcasters here work together, but we're certainly in a better spot with him here.
It will make exorcist assemblies back home rather more awkward, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.
