CHARACTER SUMMARY

A romance movie star by day, exorcist by night. Born generations after his family's ability to interact with ayakashi (spirits/youkai) died out, Natori was ostrasized by his family for the things he could see. 'The things he could see' most notably includes a lizard-shaped ayakashi that lives on his skin and roams his body like a moving tattoo, which he has a particular fixation with. All his attempts to exorcise or even identify it have failed, so it's something of a sore spot (emotionally, anyway; it feels just like any other patch of his skin).

Natori blossomed from a sullen, bookish nerd in high school into a sullen, bookish nerd with a struggling high school exorcist career. Not only do clients generally not want to hire self-taught teenagers, turns out the other local exorcists have a lot of snide comments to share about the Natori clan. A #it's complicated relationship with fellow shitty teen exorcist Matoba Seiji, heir apparent to the most powerful exorcist clan in the region, did nothing to disprove his impression that all exorcists are assholes, himself included.

Then he got a glowup and realized he could make a kajillion dollars if he stands still and looks pretty on camera, so he started doing that. Worst case scenario, he finances his exorcist work until he gets mauled by an ayakashi and ruins his looks. Best case scenario, maybe someone spots the lizard on his face when it's 20 feet tall on a billboard outside the city and he can form a human connection with someone else who can see it too. Surprisingly, the latter is the one that happened (sort of; instead of a billboard, said human connection literally tripped over his face when he was sleeping in the middle of a field like an idiot while on break).

Now he's slowly learning that maybe the real magic was the friends we made along the way, supplemented by actual magic.
